Typically, the reactants are carbide components used in the classical method of SHS (Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis) [8].
Prior to structural, metallographic examinations and testing of mechanical properties, the samples were subjected to grinding and polishing.

A single Ti3SiC2 compound target was used, produced by the SHS method at the Department of Advanced Ceramics AGH - University of Science and Technology (Cracow, Poland), from stoichiometric mixtures of Ti, Si and C.
Steel substrates were prepared by cutting from 12.5 mm diameter rod or 3 mm thick plate samples (Goodfellow, UK) using a Struers Minitom cut-off wheel and CBN cutting disc, then mechanically ground and polished using Struers MD system and diamond grinding and polishing suspensions.

The process was carried out in a combustion mode (Self propagating High-temperature Synthesis, SHS), after 6 hours-long grinding the mixture FeTiO3 + 4 Mg followed by its compacting to 60% of the theoretical density.
After grinding in a mortar in argon atmosphere, the mixture was loaded in the furnace, and metal-thermic process was carried out as desribed above.

Sometimes the production of such oxides may require repeated grinding and calcining steps in order to achieve the desired phase.
The ceramic method requires repeated grinding, palletizing and calcinations of reactants (oxides or carbonates) for longer durations (than soft chemical routes) at high temperatures.
Furthermore it requires step wise repeated grinding and calcinating steps to get pure phase of host.
The repeated grinding may produce defects in the crystals of the prepared phosphor materials.

Mechanical mixing – grinding was conducted in planetary centrifugal mill «Pulverisette-5» within 60 minutes with speed 150 rpm/min.
As the grinding spheres used steel balls with diameter 20 mm.
Results Several physic and technologic properties of the powder – medium of nickel and received after grinding of powder blends are submitted in Table 1.
The mixing - grinding of original powder components permits to receive powder blends of different dispersion.
At the same conditions of mixing - grinding with increasing content of hardening phase, the growth of powder blends dispersion is observed.

The advantages of the system includes: fast installation procedure (no gluing and surface preparation), no traffic interruption for bond curing, easy to prestress (no need for hydraulic jacks), applicable to unsmooth surfaces (e.g, riveted members), adjustable prestressing (to compensate relaxation effects), minimum damage on structure (no need to make hole, grinding or gluing on metallic member) and easy for removal (if necessary).

For Agricultural processing tasks, e.g. winnowing, threshing, grinding and for getting rid of saline water (pumping).
The batteries cost and their maintenance/replacement will add to the overall cost of the system.Solar-Home-System (SHS) is the most common usage in the majority of developing countries, where a home system power can range from 30 – 50 Wp with an estimated present cost reportedly around $300 to $500 [2],[5].In developing countries, the consumer market for PV is growing, as is the case with most forms of renewable energy systems.

Surface treatment In order to achieve a sufficient or even to improve the metal-polymer bonding, various surface preparation methods depending on the combination of the materials can be applied: 1) mechanically by sand blasting, brushing, grinding and introducing grooves/pins (macro-scale) in order to increase the anchorage probabilities [24,28-30], 2) chemically by electro-chemical etching [28], acidic or basic anodisation, introducing adhesive promoters [31-33], or by using adhesive agents such as epoxy resins [34,35] and 3) physically in order to create a certain surface topography by laser treatment [36-38] or cleaning/activating the adherent surfaces by plasma or corona treatment [39-43].
