Obviously, the new design concepts require new materials, and vice versa, new materials often require new, innovative forming processes and new tooling concepts, as well.
These contradictory requirements can be met by using higher strength materials.
From the side of materials science, the application of this design principle can be met by applying materials with high specific strength (UTS/r) and high specific stiffness (E/ r).

It is important to solve these problems for attaining desirable high-k materials.
So, adding La2O3 to Al2O3 or adding Al2O3 to La2O3 is considered the promising material engineering to get high dielectric constant and good thermal stability materials.
Accompanied by this structural phase transition is a change of the band gap, which is important for performance of high-k gate dielectric materials.
Our results provide a guideline how to adjust composition of such composite materials used as comprehensive performance high-k dielectrics.
