Introduction AlN belongs to compounds of the III-V family with a bandgap of 6.2 eV and hexagonal close-packed wurtzite crystal structure [1].
The aim of this study is to synthesize Cr doped AlN thin film by DC sputtering and RF sputtering co-deposition method at the glass and silicon substrates, where two types of silicon substrate conditions were studied, the as-deposited and annealed silicon substrate based AlN: Cr thin films and their structural analysis was performed by XRD.
This kind of luminescence is usually observed in semiconductor compounds such as IIIb-Vb and IIb-VIb compounds and chromium belongs to VIb [19].
