The advantages of the LB deposition technique include excellent control of film thickness and uniformity in the fabrication of highly ordered monolayer, multilayer and/or alternate layer structures.
But it is well-known artificially ordered structures of organic films prepared as a result of subsequent transfer of monolayer from gas-liquid interface onto solid substrates.

Chemical durability and anti-microbial property of silver-doped colloidal silica Byung Bae Mun1 , Jin Koo Park 2 and Ho Kun Kim 1,a 1 Department of Applied Chemistry, Hanyang University, Sa-1dong 1271, Ansan 425-791, Korea 2 Korea Institute of Limestone & Advanced Materials, Danyang 395-903, Korea aCorresponding author : hkkim@hanyang.ac.kr Keywords: Silver, Colloidal silica, Sol-gel method, Chemical durability, Antimicrobial effect Abstract.
Because silver and sodium ions have similar properties, it can be assumed that if silver ions are added to silica, they will break the network structure of silica and one non-bridging-oxygen is produced for each silver ion.
It has been known that tiny amounts of silver ions are released from inorganic support such as silica and diffuse to the cell membrane where they adhere to proteins and destroy the cell structure.

This could be related to a change of the nano-structure of the layer, either in crystallite size or dandling bond density.
More work needs to be done in order to improve the adherence of the layers and to correlate their nano-structure with the characterization results obtained.

The discrepancies between the calculated diffusivities and available data can be explained by the fact that the investigated samples have a rather perfect initial structure with a low number of subboundaries which serve as the sinks for the vacancies formed during the ion implantation [5].
Relatively low values of diffusivity seem to be connected with the initial samples structure.

The efficiency of titanium dioxide significantly depend on the particle size, shape, crystal structure, and aggregate morphology of the titanium dioxide used as a raw material.
This result shows that the hydrothermal is an effective method to convert titania precursor into crystalline structure.

According to the structure investigations (see [2] and references therein); the transition from the Ni3Al intermetallic compound to the Ni3Mn ordering alloy goes in the quasi-binary system of solid solutions ordered in the fcc structure of the L12 type.

The crystalline structure, morphology and surface composition of Ag-doped TiO2 whiskers were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning election microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
Too many silver (in this case the Ag content was about 4.7%) intercalation into the matrix of H4Ti4O9 or K4Ti4O9 led to the destruction of their layered structures.

Adsorption Properties of Silver Ions on Thiourea-Formaldehyde Resin Zhixian Hao1,a, Yuqing Guo1,b, Pengfei Wu1,c, Mulati Mansuer1,d, Junfu Zhu1,e 1Department of Chemistry, Tongji University, Shanghai 200092, China ahaozhixian@tongji.edu.cn, bgyq051212@163.com, c0820104048@tongji.edu.cn, dmuratmansur@126.com, ezhujunfu0@126.com Keywords: thiourea-formaldehyde resin, metal ions adsorption, silver ion Abstract: Adsorption of silver ions by Thiourea (T) and Formaldehyde (F) resins in aqueous solution was investigated, where the TF resins were prepared by a one-step reaction catalyzed with acid or by a two-step one with base and acid, respectively.
A surface and pore size analyzer model Micromeritics Tristar 3000 was used to analyze the surface area and pore structure of TF resin sample.
The T:F molar ratio could change the pore structure of TF resin, which is listed in Table 1.
