They have suitable mechanical strength, stability in aggressive medium , electronic conductance, porosity, surface chemistry, large SSA (10−200 m2 g−1) and preponderance of edges in the basal and lattice regions that provide enhanced metal−support interactions[2,3].

The process allows the use of low-cost tooling while still producing high quality composite parts making it the preferred manufacturing technique for current and future naval top-side structures (e.g. hulls, decks, and enclosures)[3,4].
The resin is injected through either a single or multiple inlet ports (depending on the part size and shape),then transferred into the preform by a pressure gradient (induced by the vacuum pressure), and gravity and capillary effects; (c) curing of the impregnated perform[5,6].Because VARI process is usually used to produce the large-scale composite structures such as ships, refrigerated containers and bridge deck[7], a large amount usage of raw material usage, complex and time-consuming process make it necessary to study in-depth on resin used in VARI.
