Its widespread distribution in freshwater and estuarine environments around the globe has drawn attention with regard to environmental and ecological issues [1,2,3] In the recent development of biological material, C. glomerata has been applied in studies associated with environmental monitoring [4], adsorption materials [5], and pharmaceutical ingredients [6].
Materials and method Organism Cladophora glomerata is a dominant filamentous alga in the Tsengwen River, the study site.
Diatom counting: The algal cells were treated with H2O2 (30%) and K2Cr2O7 to eliminate organic materials; clean diatom frustules were mounted on microscope glass slides in Naphrax.
