Zha 1,a 1 School of Mechanical Engineering, Shandong University, Jinan 250061, China a autocapp@sdu.edu.cn Keywords: Manufacturing features, Intelligent recognition, Engineering drawings Abstract.
In order to solve the problem of the recognition of manufacturing features in engineering drawings based on geometrical CAD data modal, semantic information in 2D drawings is first analyzed.
The existing research work of 2D drawing is mainly graph-based recognition and seldom considers the engineering semantics, so it is extraordinary difficult for feature recognition.
Engineering Semantics Large numbers of engineering semantics are used to express an integrated 3D solid and manufacturing-related technical information and requirement, which include the following aspects: Semantics of view relationship: 2D drawings express the structure of every orientation of 3D part by some views.

Preface The II International Materials Symposium, Materiais 2003, is a science forum dealing with the advances in science and technology of materials, organized by the Portuguese Materials Society.
The II International Materials Symposium, Materiais 2003 followed a series of biannual national and international conferences, that began 20 years ago and became, since 2001 , an international forum of scientists, engineers and technologists, working in the field of Materials Science and Engineering to discuss their recent results, exchanging ideas and information.
The conference covered a broad range of scientific and technical aspects of Materials Science and Engineering: Electronic, Optoelectronic, Spintronic and Ferroelectric Materials; Metal, Alloys, Composites and Inorganic Materials; Polymers, Molecular Materials, Biomaterials: degradation and biological behaviour of biomaterials; Nano and Micro Structured Materials; Materials for Energy Storage, Generation and Transport and other Industrials Applications; Surfaces, Interfaces and Membranes; Modelling and Numerical Simulation of Materials Behaviour; Industrial Materials and Recycling.
We believe that, the excellent papers presentation coupled with the interesting workshops in association to the very friendly and attractive atmosphere of the conference, make Materiais 2003 an excellent meeting place for scientists, technologists and engineers, working in the frontier of materials science and technology.

As China's modern manufacturing has been forging ahead from a big producing country to a powerful manufacturing state, the knowledge innovation and technical process in advanced polymer processing field are changing with each new day.
It is developing towards high performance, function and environmental-friendliness rapidly and lots of new scientific researches are raised for the science and engineering communities at the same time.
The "2009 Advanced Polymer Processing (Qingdao) Int'l Forum" surrounded the developmental trend of advanced polymer processing technology closely, made all-around, multi-angle communication and discussion on the challenges and opportunities for Chinese polymer material manufacturing industry by the national and abroad famous experts, professors and many well-known competitiveness in the market at all levels.
For the purpose of further communication, we put the papers that selected for this forum to be published in the proceeding.
