Therefore, the saliency value of Ik for each grayscale can be calculated by the Eq. 1: (1) If the total number of gray level is L, then Eq. 1 can be further expanded to be more intuitive Eq. 2: (2) In the Eq. (1), D (Ii, Ij) is calculated as follows: (3) In Eq. (3), where H(j) represents the total number of the pixel, which belongs to gray level Ij.
Methods were tested using Intel Core i3 CPU 3.20GHZ, 1.74G RAM machine.
The final saliency maps were all resized to the same size, the test results shown in Fig. 1, the average running time of each method shown in Table 1: Table 1 Comparison of average running time Method Time(s) Achanta 0.156 Zhai and Shah 0.015 Hou and Zhang 0.219 Ours 0.047 (a)Original image (b) Achanta (c)Zhai and Shah (d)Hou and Zhang (e)Ours Fig.1 Comparison of saliency maps Fig.1 shows the saliency map using our method are obviously superior to other methods and the salient regions were more close to the real object.
