CFD Investigation of Damper Plate Effect on Air Flow in High Speed Rotation Hard Disk Drive by Using K-E with a Partial Model Jarupol Suriyawanakula and Kiatfa Tangchaichitb Depatment of Mechanical Engineering, Khon Kaen University, Midtraphab Road, Muang Khon Kaen, Thailand ajarupol@kku.ac.th, bkiatfa@kku.ac.th Keywords: Hard Disk Drive, Air Damper, Turbulent Model, Flow Simulation Abstract.
In HDD air flow simulation, the well known LES turbulent model requires large computing times and resources, including CPU, RAM and storage intensive which is not appropriate when using various variables.
The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) commercial software used is ANSYS Fluent14.

In this paper, a sort of heat sink collocated with high-power IGBT module, which is commonly used in car-carrying motor control system, is designed based on thermal analysis by means of CFD simulation and computer-aided analyzing, also the influence relations of structure parameters with thermal performance are studied.
With the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, thermal analysis and simulation for heat sink design become very convenient.
Computer aided engineering by CFD may improve the design results, and shorten the developing cycle obviously [3].
In order to examine the design result, thermal simulation and analysis for the designed heat sink are given to verify the thermal performance.

Multi-dimensional computational dynamic fluid (CFD) codes have been widely used to estimate component temperatures.
In the first method, measured heat flux data on exhaust pipes surface are used as the boundary condition to CFD simulations.
The most detailed is due to EdBendell, where a coupled steady-state CFD and thermal study was undertaken at full-vehicle scale [3].

In this study, we analyze the airflow circulation cell of the IACS with varied outlet port opening dimensions using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique.
The CFD code used in this study was a Fluent solver (Fluent, Inc. 2006)[7]. 3.
CFD simulation of airflow distributions were carried out in the modeled room after 500 seconds of cooling.
Therefore, these simulation results will be a valuable basis for the research and design of an IACS system.

This paper offers to watch the changes of flow profile within the column by the application of simulation software ANSYS CFX .Besides, according to the distribution of flow profile, the traditional column has been done a lot of dynamic simulation, especially the stigma part of the column.
The Simulation and optimization of fluid within chromatographic column.
As the boundary conditions of various parts are different, This paper uses software ICEM CFD to mesh and optimist the grid on the column, distributor, and some catheters [2], the grid sets relatively dense in the important part or the greater gradient part, and sparse in the unimportant part .
Summary (1) According to the simulation above, if the distributor’s design is improper, two conditions often occur.

The software tool Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) is used for simulation and data analysis, which applies CFD technology to the continuum motion.
The simulation is therefore solved for time T = 10 minutes.
An alternative approach by CFD method after simulation and analysis of results in FDS and MS Excel programs can be declared valid from the condition VFVn = 675,208 m3 ≤ VNVs =783,006 m3.
Conclusion The following is evident from the discussion chapter: · The hypothesis of the applicability of the alternative approach to solving the problem is confirmed according to the simulation by the CFD method and subsequent analysis in the FDS and MS Excel programs.
However, the result of the simulation performed this way depends on several different factors, that must be considered
