Preface This issue collected some selected tribology and materials research papers from the International Conference on Engineering Tribology and Applied Technology 2016 (ICETAT 2016).
At the same time, the conference represented a unique opportunity for the tribology and engineering community to present their new research results, exchange ideas and become familiar with new trends and directions in the fields of Basic Friction and Wear, Biotribology, Computer-Aided Engineering, Contact Mechanics, Dynamic and Vibration Engineering, Green Tribology and Sustainability, Lubricants and Lubrication, Material Analysis and Examination, Manufacturing Technology, Measurement and Signal Processing Technology, Micro and Nano Tribology, Surface Engineering and Coating, Tribology in Machine Elements, etc.
The papers presented in Journal of Key Engineering Materials were the selected manuscripts associated Tribology and Materials research areas from ICETAT2016.
The other manuscripts associated engineering technology were published in the other profession journals.

Introduction Many studies have been devoted to give a good knowledge of the physical properties of polymeric materials often associated with other environmental stresses [1-3].Under service conditions, these materials are exposed to electrical fields, below the critical level required for rapid failure via an avalanche process.
Then the breakdown of these materials may occur.

UV inkjet printing as a printing method using UV ink printing via UV drying technology can print any materials with non-impact printing.
The UV inkjet prints PET bottom with white ink, then is transferred to ABS to check the materials color quality attributes.

Introduction Composite materials are becoming more and more used for all kinds of purposes and one important aspect that needs to be better understood is their fatigue behavior.
The composite materials have a more complex behavior under fatigue loading.

Therefore we can use the different cylinder structures to improve the stress distribution around inner cylinder walls instead of using high strength materials.
The above structure has many advantages which is easy manufacturing, common materials and lightweight [22,23].
Taking full advantage of the respective characteristics of different materials; Using high strength materials to make the inner cylinder and using lower strength materials to make the outer cylinder.

Electrochromic materials can change their optical properties reversibly with an applied potential due to electrochemical oxidation and reduction.
Polyaniline has emerged as one of the most promising class of active materials for electrochromic devices, due to its high capacitive characteristics [4], easy processing, low cost and environmental stability [5].
CNTs were discovered by Iijima in 1991 [11] and is a very promising materials for application that requires good electronic, mechanical and thermal properties.
