Micro-hardness is a widely used mechanical property, that is token of plastic deforming resistance of materials and the capacity of strain hardening.
From Eq.(1), it can be seen that for polycrystalline materials, the material hardens as its grain size decreases.

The high pressure rotor material is 30Cr1Mo1V and low-pressure rotor material is 30Cr2Ni4MoV-B3.
We also found that the stress concentration factors of journal 2 and journal 4 are larger.

As a result, we obtained a good agreement between the experimental and the calculated void growth for both materials and it is also found that material parameters for damage evolutions are almost the same for both materials and are hardly affected by the work-hardening exponent.
The materials are considered as elastic-perfectly plastic solids in the numerical calculation.
