In this paper, we have inspected the structural morphology of novel composite materials - transition metal (TM) (Ni, Ti) / fullerene (C60) thin films, prepared at room temperature (RT) or 500°C, and modified by ion-irradiation and/or thermal annealing.
Introduction Metal-fullerene thin films (i.e., multilayers and mixtures) provide a rapidly developing class of interesting composite materials exhibiting attractive structural, mechanical, electronic and other properties [1-4]; some of them have already been utilized (e.g., in photoelectronics [5]).

Thus, after the great performance of fly ash and GGBS as supplementary cementitious materials is identified and recognized by the construction industry, it is not surprising that there has been a lot of interest in the development of less energy intensive and more ecological mineral materials in massive replacement of cement clinker, such as artificially-made materials, industrial byproducts or natural materials.

Some materials such as plasma-sprayed coatings that had a lamellar microstructure displayed the anisotropy of thermal conductivity.
When it comes to consideration of metallic ceramic materials using FEM, material properties are commonly assumed to isotropic.

Recently, the microscopic nano-tribology[12] has received much attention with the continuous development of scientific research on nanometer materials.
Because the friction mechanism is unclear, the friction materials can only be chosen according to experiments so far.
Tomikawa have introduced results of comparison experiments on different friction materials, from which no significant advantage or disadvantage can be seen.
No unified standard has been defined for selection of friction materials for ultrasonic motors of different forms, and there is only some qualitative knowledge about this.
Therefore, the friction materials can only be selected according to experience.
