Zeolites are widely used as ion exchangers, adsorbents, separation materials and catalyst due to their well-tailored and highly-reproducible structures [5].
SEM characterization is used to look at the structure and morphology of the sample before and after testing.
The XRD pattern also shows that the metakaolin has an amorphous structure.
Based on the diffraction pattern it can be seen that ZG_B has a lower crystalline structure compare to that of ZG_A.

In this study, LSCF with oriented or controlled domain structures was prepared, and its ferroelastic mechanical behaviour was investigated.
Figure 5 compares the stress vs strain relationships of LSCF under uniaxial compression at RT for random and oriented domain structures.
The domain structure was observed using a SEM.
LSCF annealed in lower O2 partial pressures show completely different mechanical behaviours, reflecting the different domain structures observed in Fig. 6.

In the experiment two types of austenitic steels, having the NaCl crystal structure (cubic, face
centred structure) were used as well as austenitic-ferritic one of cubic, body centred structure.
Generally the faster transport of manganese partly explains the morphological structure of the scale that is mainly built of the manganese compounds.
Moreover the depletion of manganese close to the metal/scale interface causes the phase transformation from austenitic to ferritic structure and causes the decrease of the diffusion rate [11].

It is important to note that, as reported elsewhere [8] short carbonation times do not change the original C-S-H gel structure, indicating that the gel pore volume is maintained.
Thus, the fact that the PC1h paste presents a slightly higher mechanical resistance to compression than PREF paste, is very probably due to a slightly higher content of calcium carbonate, which has a higher hardness [16], as well as by the shrinkage of its internal region C-S-H structure and the formation of a new binding amorphous phase.
- The porosity related property results indicate that the 1h carbonated paste has a structure that may promote a good durability.
