When a compressive strain is applied, the polymeric layer between the particles decreases, making possible electron tunneling, and a large reduction of the overall electrical resistance value is registered.
This effect increases the probability of tunneling phenomena, therefore leading to a large reduction of the electrical resistance of the whole sample even at slight compressive loads.
After this preliminary characterization on the composite functional performances, a customized electronic read-out circuit was fabricated with the aim to monitor the functional response of the sensing insole and send the acquired data to a PC for real-time processing.

The degree of methyl orange degradation under the action of hydrogen peroxide: 1-3, 5, 6 - in presence of CoFe2O4 / α-Fe2O3, 4 – without catalyst (See explanation in Table 1)
