The size factor (ks) reflects non-uniformity of material properties due to size; it depends upon tooth size, diameter, face width, hardenability, heat treatment, etc.
(ix) The bending stress investigation was repeated for gear profile of modules 4.0 and 6.0mm using the same material properties, loading and boundary conditions.

In the modification equation of main turning force, the influencing factors include 9 terms such as workpiece materials and the output is modification coefficient K.
So, when designing neural network, workpiece materials are as independent input and there are 9 network inputs as shown in Fig. 3.
