Steel and concrete are the main buiding material of the civil engineering community, but with its easily errosion behaviour and CO2 discharge, it should be substituded with new materials.Fiber reiforcement polymer (FRP) is such a developped material, with its high strength to weight ratio, durability prolongation, hight stiffness to weight ratio and its fatigue resistance behaviour, it is now getting widely used in civil engineering.
In June 2011, China Transportation Ministry developped its engineering durability standard and encourage the Chinese civil engineers to use new non-steel materials into the construction industry [2].

Chinese students have to acquire basic knowledge in Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College for 2 years and further their study in Daegu Technical University for another 1.5 years, while Korean students vice versa.
Heilongjiang Agricultural Engineering Vocational College keeps close contract with Daegu Technical University in South Korea in recent years.
The double-campus model could not only help students acquire a fundamental theoretical knowledge in China, but also help them learn the latest research trends and advanced technology overseas.
Coupled with the profound Chinese cultural heritage, we have to welcome other countries’ seeking knowledge to ours together with learning advanced knowledge abroad.
School internationalization has taken this opportunity to catch up with the advanced higher education rapidly, to cultivate talents with internationalized competitiveness by learning the school running experience of higher education in developed countries.

Ultra advanced high strength sheet steel (U-AHSS) can be referred to as twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel .
Recently, there has been a dramatically increased interest in the development of a new generation of AHSS, defined as extra advanced high-strength sheet steel (X-AHSS) and shown in Fig.1.

Such alloys with engineered chemical composition and properly designed heat treatment could have improved properties at temperatures up to 250 o C.
The advanced thermal analysis techniques including dilatometer analysis were used to determine the effect of alloying additions on thermal characteristics including aging kinetics and its impact on casting service performance.
Approximately 30 alloys with engineered additions of Cu, Mg, V, Zr, Ti, Cr, Sc, etc.
Advanced thermal analysis using UMSA Technology Platform [6] was done to determine the effect of alloying additions on phase transformations and consequently to optimize liquid metal and heat treatment processing parameters.
This research is funded by the Advanced Structural Materials for Next Generation Vehicles (ASM-NGV) Program of Natural Resources Canada.

Summary We have demonstrated that the SmartSiC™ engineered substrates are a key asset for the SiC power industry, with proven high crystal quality and ultra-low electrical resistivity.
The properties of the p-SiC used are monitored through different characterizations, some of which are disclosed here, enabling Soitec to tailor our engineered substrate performance.
