As it can be observed the weld obtained with a tool advancing speed of 400 mm/min is characterized a perfect bonding, with the material coming from the thick blank on the retreating side and being shifted to the thin sheet on the advancing side.

Abstract: In this study, a Titanium (Ti) / Strontia (SrO) composite was prepared using powder metallurgy, with the aim of obtaining advanced Ti-based composites for use as bone implant materials.
Therefore, Ti composites with SrO content is expected to have a better biocompatibility and advanced mechanical properties e.g. high hardness and strength, and reasonable elastic modulus for application as bone implant materials.
