Such alloys with engineered chemical composition and properly designed heat treatment could have improved properties at temperatures up to 250 o C.
The advanced thermal analysis techniques including dilatometer analysis were used to determine the effect of alloying additions on thermal characteristics including aging kinetics and its impact on casting service performance.
Approximately 30 alloys with engineered additions of Cu, Mg, V, Zr, Ti, Cr, Sc, etc.
Advanced thermal analysis using UMSA Technology Platform [6] was done to determine the effect of alloying additions on phase transformations and consequently to optimize liquid metal and heat treatment processing parameters.
This research is funded by the Advanced Structural Materials for Next Generation Vehicles (ASM-NGV) Program of Natural Resources Canada.

Ultra advanced high strength sheet steel (U-AHSS) can be referred to as twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel .
Recently, there has been a dramatically increased interest in the development of a new generation of AHSS, defined as extra advanced high-strength sheet steel (X-AHSS) and shown in Fig.1.

Research hydrological effect of frozen soil can make us better understand this exceptional hydrological processes, and it is also have a great significance to solve the resources development, engineering construction, ecological protection, soil salinization control and some other practical problems in cold regions or polar.
On this basis, use advanced science and technology to further improve the methods and means of test. 2) In cold regions engineering construction, water conservancy calculation, evaluation and other aspects of using water resources should take full account of hydrological effect of frozen soils. 3) Establish the specialized hydrology research institutes in cold region, in order to make further development of theories and methods about this subject.

Summary We have demonstrated that the SmartSiC™ engineered substrates are a key asset for the SiC power industry, with proven high crystal quality and ultra-low electrical resistivity.
The properties of the p-SiC used are monitored through different characterizations, some of which are disclosed here, enabling Soitec to tailor our engineered substrate performance.
