X-ray diffraction (XRD) was performed to analyze the crystal structure whereas scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine the microstructure and surface morphology.
XRD results show that LiFe(1-x)VxPO4/C phase has been formed with an olivine-based structure.
The sintered carbon, on the contrary, shows a tendency for crystal formation with a structure indexed to hexagonal P63/mmc space group (JCPDS 25-0284).
This can be understood since the sintering process will result in rearrangement of the atoms within the material with more ordered structure to form a crystalline phase.

When a particle structure of pure β' is partially substituted with ~70% U2, the yield strength increases with 6.5% and the tensile strength increases 5.3% [3].
The particles were identified by high resolution images using both CCD camera and film, from which the crystal structure and lattice parameters could be identified.
The optimized lattice parameters obtained for this averaged bulk β' structure are a = 7.06 Å, c = 4.09 Å, within 1.3% of the experimental values for the real structure [6].

Morphology of 5% L-FG and N-FG nanofiber were almost the same in terms of smooth structure.
