On the other hand, their main elements are mechanically brittle materials, and they may also contain materials which have the property of expanding or contracting in oxidizing/reducing conditions.
In order to address the above issues, we have developed methods to enable comprehensive evaluation of interactions between mechanical and electrochemical factors, for characterization of element materials and cell/stack evaluation [5, 7-9].
Mechanical properties (Anode) In this study, NiO and 8 mol% YSZ and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) were used as the starting materials.

For this purpose Tig and Laser welding tests were conducted to determine the influence of the welding parameters, materials and preheating.
Despite the fact that equipments (TIG/LASER) and filler materials for micro-welding for high performance materials have been introduced in the market, the problems related to their use in moulds are numerous mainly due to the scarce existent know-how (the scientific work published for sheet welding does not contemplate moulds specific requirements) [4].

To be sure that the RTD devices can have a good performances, it was concluded that the material and the structural parameters played the key role [7, 8].
From the electrical characterizations, it was concluded that: there were two RTD material structures which may improve the performances of the RTD devices which has also been proved by the theoretical analysis.
