Diffusion of both aluminum and oxygen at the grain boundaries led to formation of new Al2O3 within the oxide layer.
In the diffusion zone,Fe diffused outwards from the substrate to the coating while Co diffused inwards from the coating to the substrate.One reason for this may be that Co forms substitution solid solution with Fe,which means that Co has high solution in the Fe base due to the fact that Co atomic number approaches that of Fe and their atomic radius difference is very small[10].Moreover, Ni diffused inwards from the coating to the substrate slightly in comparison with Co while Cr hardly took part in the diffusion 10μm obviously and mainly distributed in the coating.

The interfaces are thought to prevent grain boundary sliding and dislocation propagation and, thus, contribute to the found significant enhancement in the hardness[4-5] ;On the contrary, the “incorrect” interfaces will reduce the interface binding force and reduce the hardness obviously[6].
