The properties of varistors result from grain boundary phenomena, so the grain boundary chemistry and the homogeneity of dopant distribution at the grain boundaries are critical.
Finally, multilayer varistors were made having the same geometric structure with MLCC.
The chemical homogeneity of specific dopants and the ceramic micro- structure play an important role in the electrical properties of varistors.

It is expected that the performance of boehmite and alumina particles as the coatings and fillers is strongly dependent on the characteristics of the particles used, namely, the morphology, size, length, crystal structure, etc. [5,7].
This seems to reflect that fibrous particles form the film and coating with dense structure, compared with plate-like and rod-like particles, in other words, boehmite nanofibers over 500 nm in length tend to orient in parallel to each other and densely aggregate [8].
