The density and the porosity of the CSZC samples were measured by using Archimedes method.
It is observed that the there are less pores existing among the zirconia grains with pore size of less than 10 µm in the sample without hollow balls , which is in agreement with the Fig. 1 results.

From Fig.4 (a),it can be seen that there are a large number of gray-black inclusion defects with irregular shape and sharp corners near the crack surface area.Fig.4 (b) shows that the microstructure is mainly of ferrite and pearlite, and ferrite in the grain boundary takes the shape of the distribution network, which is the reason of the surface decarburization.
