Numerical simulation by CFD to analyze the mechanism of mud out of mud extrusion process of the velocity field in the simulation, the influence of the quality of the clay mud section the nature of materials were studied.
In same structural parameters and conditions, choose two different soil moisture contents of materials A and B to simulate the mud.
The axial speed mainly affects the delivery of mud obviously, while the circumferential speed mainly affects mixture of materials and plasticity.

Preface This special issue of journal Key Engineering Materials contains papers contributed to the 21st International Baltic Conference "Engineering Materials and Tribology" - BALTMATTRIB held on October 18 - 19, 2012 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The series of the Baltic International Conferences on Materials Engineering and Tribology was started 19 years ago focusing on materials issues and tribological studies.
Since that time the BALTMATTRIB became an open forum for researchers and engineers to exchange ideas, share thoughts and encourage development and cooperation in both basic and applied researches in the fields of materials science, powder metallurgy, surface engineering and tribology.
The BALTMATTRIB topics are:  Advanced materials and technologies  Coatings and surface engineering  Materials characterization  Tribology of materials and machine elements Understanding the complex interrelationship between processing, materials properties and their performance is a key to the way forward in our rapidly changing world.
Surženkov The Guest Editor believes this issue will be a valuable resource not only for the participants of BALTMATTRIB Conference but also for the whole research community in the field of materials science and tribology.
