In this paper, a single-phase 6KVA, 240VAC/30-70 VDC electric arc welding machine was designed and constructed using locally available materials.
Fig.1, block diagram of the AC/DC arc welding machine In view of the escalating cost of imported materials and finished end units for various applications, there is the need to harness and put together locally available materials in the desired shapes to achieve the equipment technological and scientific objectives.
The low cost developed machine is one of the most useful equipment in the construction industry where pieces of materials need to be welded together for specific application.
