Introduction
Carbon foam is a porous, three dimensionally cellular carbonaceous materials which are widely used in the thermal protection systems, heat sink, heat exchanger, catalyst support, host structure for the phase change materials, etc [1, 2].
The high specific properties of the materials are always desirable for the crucial applications like thermal protective systems and fire resistance structures in aerospace.

Abstract
Recent developments in the composite materials with high performance increase its range of application most widely but the major disadvantage of these novel materials is machining.
But the machinability of these materials is very complicated owing to the harder reinforcements and in order to reduce this complexity an attempt was made to find the best process parameter to get better surface finish while milling.
The observations adjuncts to the well known technocrat that harder materials are always hard to machine.
