This paper presents research into analysing the volume stability of composite materials based on a polymer-cement matrix.
Materials of modified composition were gradually exposed to extreme temperatures and then cooled in furnaces.
Suitable materials have to be selected to minimize the volume changes influenced by thermal variations.
Acknowledgements This paper was composed with the financial support of The Czech Science Foundation, project GA15-07657S, “Study of kinetics of processes occurring in the composite system at extreme temperatures and exposed to an aggressive environment”, as well as from the budget of the project FAST-S-15-2621 “Research and development of building materials with utilization of currently produced alternative raw materials”.
Advanced Materials Research. 2014. 2014(887-888). pp. 805 - 808

Introduction
The performance and lifetime of any technological device are ultimately depending on the mechanical
properties of their constitutive parts and materials.
If the grain size is several times smaller than the beam size (nanocrystallized materials), monochromatic beam must be use instead (see Fig.2).
White beam mSXRD Monochromatic mSXRD X-rays X-rays Grain size > or ~ beam size Grain size << beam size White beam mSXRD Monochromatic mSXRD X-raysX-rays X-raysX-rays Grain size > or ~ beam size Grain size << beam size4 Title of Publication (to be inserted by the publisher) Studies in materials science.
The applications conducted so far at this end-station range from the study of the mechanical properties of composite materials and Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) devices to the characterization of biomaterials, superconducting films, and to mineralogy, geology, environmental and earth sciences.
