We surmise that the different decolorization behavior of methyl orange using pure and doped ZnO films might originate from the different microstructure changes upon high temperature annealing, i.e., ZnO microcrystalline grain grows at high temperatures while Mn dopants in Zn1−xMnxO films may transit from substitutional to interstitial sites at high temperatures, as hinted from XRD measurements (not shown) and earlier reports [23].
