Abstract.
The insights that have been gained are important for developing other bioactive ceramic-polymer composites.
The biomimicking concept has now been extended into developing bioactive composites with metals or ceramics as matrices.
This composite approach is being established as one of the most important and viable ways in developing new biomaterials and biomedical composites have regularly been a major topic at international conferences [5, 6].
The elastic modulus values of HA, α-TCP, A-W glass-ceramic and Bioglass are 80GPa, 72GPa, 118GPa and 35GPa, respectively.
