For definition of the grain size distribution of ND particles in
polymeric matrixes, optical microscopy (microscope MIN-8 supplied with the digital camera) and
TEM (Zeiss LEO 912AB OMEGA) were used.

As to the packing efficiency, a simple cubic with its
coordination number, CN = 6 has 52 %, a bcc with CN = 8 has 68 %, and both a closed packed
hexagonal and a fcc with CN = 12 have 74 %.
In LPS, the particles are typically polydisperse and usual coarsening mechanisms such as Ostwald ripening, necking, grain boundary migration and/or sliding, and even chemically induced interface migration [11] occur, and thus it would be an imposing challenge to carry out a quantitative analysis on the true sedimentation.

On the other hand, cold rolling
induces preferred orientation of polycrystalline and grains anisotropy can be assessed by measured
plastic anisotropy.
Lee and Yang showed that the blank element size and the number of corner elements are the most significant parameters influencing springback in U-bending [12].

Samples
numbered are: 1: MgH2, 2: MgH2+1
mol% Cr2O3, 3: MgH2+1 mol% ZnO,
4: MgH2+1 mol% Nb2O5, 5: MgH2+1
mol% Cr2O3+1 mol% Nb2O5, 6:
MgH2+1 mol% ZnO+1 mol% Nb2O5
The XRD patterns of MgH2 with and without oxides, (Cr2O3/Nb2O5) and (ZnO/Nb2O5), after
milling for 20 h and dehydrogenation at 300 °C are shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, respectively.
It is observed that the diffraction patterns of samples after milling have broad peaks, indicating grain refinement due to high energy ball milling.

The classical metallographic, replica methods and sophisticated EBSD techniques [2] are commonly
used to detect the cavity formation along grain boundaries and the appearence of microcracks due to
creep.
In addition, the matrix includes a large number of dissolved carbon atoms.

The production route that was based on massive transformation and subsequent designed heat and HIP treatments, resulted in fine grains with non conventional g + a2 lamellae, namely cross convoluted lamellar g + a2 microstructure.
