First, there were Moe [1] and Hognestad et al. [2].
The most recent work has been undertaken by El-Shafiey et al. [4], Borges et al. [5] and Oliveira et al. [6].
Borges et al. [5] tested 13 reinforced concrete (RC) flat slabs, each with a thickness of 200 mm and EL-Shafiey [4] tested 7 slab specimens, each with a thickness of 150 mm, along with one reference slab, six slabs with square openings of different dimensions located at the vicinity of the column.
Ha et al. [7] and Liberati et al. [8] investigated the effect of small circular openings near the column.
Eight slabs with symmetrically placed openings were tested by Augustin et al. [9].

We selected EL Centro as the seismic wave to be inputted, input NE direction seismic wave to the horizontal, and vertical seismic wave to the vertical, their acceleration time-histories curve was shown in Figure 2.
So, seen from the residual displacement, the loading of EL Centroe on bidirectional produced smaller deformation compared with only horizontal, which might be related to the specific frequency and phase difference of the horizontal seismic wave and the vertical seismic wave.

Electrical Characterization of Mullite Bodies Containing Al-Rich Anodizing Sludge M.J.
Al-rich sludge produced from industrial anodising and surface treatment processes had been tested in the fabrication of mullite-based materials, by using unidirectional dry pressing as shaping technique.
Introduction The recycling of Al-rich anodising sludge as a component of mullite refractory bodies represents a good environmental solution [1].
Experimental Procedure Previous calcined (at 1400°C) Al-rich sludge generated in the wastewater treatment unit of an anodising or surface coating industrial plant (Extrusal, S.A., Aveiro) was used as the main component (42 wt-%) of a mullite-precursor paste.

Metal/diamond binary composite coatings on Al substrate without grit blasting were deposited by cold spray process with in-situ powder preheating.
It is possible to produce the ductile metal and ceramic composites (Al and SiC, Al2O3, AlN, diamond) as well as the brittle metal and ductile metal composites (W and Cu) by cold spray [5].
The substrate used was an Al alloy (ASTM 6061) with a thickness of 5 mm.
It is interesting to find in Figure 1 (c) that some of the diamonds penetrate the Al substrate.
