The compounds with skutterudite structure (CoAs3) have been during last decades identified as one of most attractive materials for intermediate temperature thermoelectric power applications.

In the in-cell and out of cell SS piping and erection works of various plants/projects, Gas Tungstun Arc Welding (GTAW) process of welding is followed, to obtain weldment with controlled chemistry and good surface finish in as-welded condition for improved corrosion resistance.
Three test welds S1, S2 and S3 (Fig. 1) after etching in 10% oxalic acid as per practice A, A 262, ASTM test showed that the weld structure in all the three test conditions was dendritic, the weld – base metal interface region was in “dual” structure (ditches at grain boundaries but none of the grain is completely surrounded by ditches) and heat affected zone (HAZ) was also in dual structure condition.

YIG (Y3Fe5O12) is a soft ferrimagnetic material with garnet structure.
Increase sintering temperature to 900°C and 1000°C, a mixture of perovskite and garnet structure exists.
From Figure 1, a single phase garnet structure was seen for powder sintered at 1100 oC.
YIG was successfully persists a complete garnet structure at 1100 °C.

Activated carbon, having well-developed pore structure and high specific surface area of many factors of the variables effecting CMP are known.
When the Ce/Si mole ratio is 1/8 (Fig. 1 (C8S)), there are not any diffraction peaks corresponding to the peaks of fluorite-structured CeO2.
It means that CeO2-SiO2 sample mainly exists as amorphous and crystallitic structure.
In order to obtain a better insight in the structure and composition of the samples, FT-IR spectroscopy was performed.

The most effective methods apply wet chemistry, laser and plasma techniques and layer technologies, including chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
A type of the applied layer (its microstructure, chemical composition and atomic structure) should be designed to meet desired properties of the synergistic layer - substrate (polymer) system.
Each variation from the above parameters changes the layer growth rate, its structure, chemical composition and morphology.
