It is a kind of amphoteric polymer and there are a lot of hydroxyl groups in the molecular structure, as well as many carboxyl groups and amino groups, which make gelatin extremely hydrophilic and reactive [9].

Abstract.
He proposed that the forces like solid bridges, interfacial forces and capillary pressure at freely movable liquid surfaces, adhesion and cohesion forces at not freely movable binder bridges, attraction forces between solid particles, and formed-close bonds or interlocking, are the major reason for holding the macroscopic particle agglomerate structure.

Other methods for solid-state characterisation, such as
infrared spectroscopy, are also used to monitor the progress of an intercalation reaction and to
determine site-specific chemistry of intermediates and products.

Research reports have also shown thatclays and laterites have high tendencies to effectively remove anions and many other volatile organic compounds from contaminated water bodies by adsorption mechanismbecause they contain minerals such as kaolinite, smectite, amorphous minerals etc that have exchangeable OH groups in the mineral structure [6,7].
