It is nonlinear in behavior because usually the loading causes significant changes in stiffness, which results in a structure that is nonlinear.

Introduction According to the definition developed by Fookes in 1991, the term geomaterial includes soils, rocks and minerals that are predominantly used in building construction and/or their structure, both in their natural form or processed in bricks or cement, but excluding products manufactured by technologically complex processes, based on advanced engineering knowledge [1].
Acknowledgements This paper was done with the support of the Interdisciplinary Platform ARHEOINVEST team and Doctoral School of Chemistry and Life Sciences and Earth, both of University "Al.

Three different methods were applied in order to measure the amount of in situ fabricated TiC in different samples; through chemistry of reactions, studying the ternary Fe-Ti-C phase diagram and quantitatively analysing the microstructures of cast samples.
The structure of designed L9 orthogonal array (OA) and the results of measurement for wear loss are shown in Table 4.
Conclusions In this study, addition of different weight percentage of Ti element within the molten Fe-0.7Cr-0.8Mn cold work tool steels has been investigated: 1- By addition of low weight percentage of Ti (0-1wt.% of Ti) into the Fe matrix, due to the high affinity between additive titanium and low weight percent carbon content in this alloy, low weight percentage of TiC in situ formed in the metal matrix 2- Three different methods were applied in order to measure the amount of in situ fabricated TiC in different samples; through chemistry of reactions, studying the ternary Fe-Ti-C phase diagram and quantitatively analysing the microstructures of cast samples and in all of them the amount of in situ formed TiC calculated 0- 1wt.%. 3- It is revealed that the polyhedral TiC particulate with the size of 1-10µm is distributed uniformly in the steel matrix. 4- When the amount of additive Ti increases, the size and volume percentage of the in situ formed TiC particles in the matrix increases

In fact, this technology of cold forming is applied to materials with as cast structure which may in some cases limit formability during rolling.
Solubility of Fe in Al in the solid state is very small but the observed differences may be connected with the evolution of the chemistry of non-equilibrium AlFe phases and changes in its volume fraction in the material.
On the other hand, from the experimental results in the Fig. 1 (line for homogenized Al-Si material) it can be easily estimated that the electrical conductivity differences observed in Fig. 3 can be caused by the significantly higher level of Si content which changes location within the structure.

In this comparative study of chemically surface modification using oxidative acid treatments, FTIR was used to examine the formation of -OH, -COOH and -C=O groups on the surface of the MWCNTs, TGA and XRD used to determine the thermal behaviour and the crystal structure studies of the modified MWCNTs respectively.

The lattice parameters of the tetragonal crystal structure are a = b = 3.786 Å and c = 9.517 Å.
Dislocation density The density of dislocations (δ) indicates that the lattice structure is creating defect levels.
The bands incident at 1120 and 1020 cm-1 show the carbonate crystal structure, chemical bonding and relative intensities of the FTIR bands [58].

Carbon fibers are having cylindrical structures with a graphene layer and an average length of about 50–200μm [5].
Also, its fast rate in pyrolysis without changing its basic structure is the added advantage [21].
Fig. 2 Molecular structure of PAN PAN fibers are converted into carbon Fibers by the carbonization process.
The stabilization treatment of PAN is carried out at 200-3000C which starts the formation of a thermally stable ladder structure which increases the stability and mechanical properties of the structure due to the four-point connection of the bonds [32].

The resultant crack will only be detectable in an engineering structure when its depth is considerably greater, dependent on the specifics of the inspection technique.
In other cases the sequence of events illustrated in Fig.8 may be deferred for many years due to the formation of a specific localized chemistry in a crevice, or the development of a "susceptible" material microstructure due to the accumulation of a specific amount of irradiation fluence.
Summary Many reliability problems of industrial structures are related to the presence of cracks, which under certain loadings can lead to their ruin.
Characterisation of the harmfulness of this type of defect is essential to know, among other things, the residual lifetime of cracked structures.
