Yang[10] and Zhang Y[11,12] predicted Ω and δ is the two important parameters of phase formation, where Ω is quotient between the product of mixing enthalpy and melting temperature and entropy of mixing, δ is average variance of elements atomic radius.
Yang consider the parameter Ω≥1.1, δ≤6.6% when forming a stable solid solution, so Ω≥1.1, δ≤6.6% can be used as high entropy alloy solid solution forming criterion.
