The material removal mechanism of ultrafine-grained cemented carbides in grinding process was studied [6], and it related to material properties.
In the past decades, many studies focused attentions on material removal behavior of cemented carbides in grinding performances.
It indicates that ploughing and fragmentation are dominant material removal behavior.

These materials have very fine grain sizes (usually < 20), which remain stable at the temperature of deformation [1].
This frictional heat softens the material and extrudes it around the tool pin, mixing the two materials together.

Introduction
Compounds with the skutterudite crystal structure have attracted much attention as promising thermoelectric materials (TE), because they possess remarkable large carrier mobility, high electrical conductivity and large Seebeck coefficients, which are all characteristics of a highly efficient TE material [1].
The material was melted for 1.5 h at 1423 K in an induction furnace whereby the tubes were turned over several times to obtain a homogenized material.

These studies were performed using commercially granulated materials: Two ZrO2-qualities from different sources and one type of Al2O3 powder.
Different materials can be used.
An interesting further aspect for the application of this process is the fabrication of porous implant materials with inside-lying open net structures.
