The reference angle for the measurement of the residual stresses is 2q0 = 139.31° (lattice plane Al 311).
However, Scholtes et al. conducted experiments with hardened steel components which proved that the hardening of heated surfaces can have a positive effect on the durability of the components although the residual compressive stresses decrease when high temperatures occur during the hardening process [27, 28].

The results show that Ti(Al,N) amorphous powders were synthesized successfully by mechanical alloying.
Since Ti2AlN was first discovered by Jeitschko et al. in 1963 [3], the researches have mainly been concentrated on fabrication of Ti2AlN thin films [4].
The chemical analysis results listed in Fig. 6. it reveal that the atomic ratio of Ti to Al in the as synthesized Ti2AlN product is larger than that of stoichiometric composition of 2. compared to Ti, the saturated vapor tension of Al is larger at high temperature, which leads to the loss rate of Al much larger than that of Ti.
However, the total atomic ratio of Al and N to Ti is nearly to the stoichiometric proportion 1:1.

In this study, the effect of electroless Ni-P plating on the mechanical properties of Al-4%Ge alloy was investigated.
We have tried to improve the mechanical property of Al-1.2%Si alloy by applying electroless nickel-phosphorous (Ni-P) plating that is considered to be effective for the wear resistant improvement of the Al alloy and forms very hard film, after applying heat-treatment on Al-1.2%Si alloy.
Experimental The alloy used in the experiment was Al-4%Ge as a composition which was made by melting and casting of two pure metals such as 99.996% Al and 99.999% Ge in a highly pure alumina melting pot in the atmosphere.
However, such phenomena was not observed in the case of Al-1.2%Si aged at room temperature.
