Granite is a kind of high damping material with low thermal expansion, so it is widely used in aerostatic guideways.
To ensure high motion accuracy of hydrostatic guideways, guide rails should be made of low thermal expansion coefficient materials such as granite, ceramics and Zerodur, and be lapped to reduce the geometric errors [6, 7].
The thermal expansion coefficient of the material is 4.6×10-6/ and the water absorption is less than 0.13%.

When dielectric materials heated by microwave, microwave energy absorbed by the dielectric material and transformed into heat energy.
The arraying direction of polar molecules in the dielectric materials changed constantly with the alternating high-frequency microwave field, in short time material could be heated effectively and evenly , which had a similar effect of friction.
It could be used as textile materials after treatment of opening.
