Possible applications span from apparently homogeneous materials like metals, whose microscopic grain structure is examined, to obviously hierarchically organized fiberreinforced polymers, on to porous materials, bio materials, etc.
The inclusions approximate glass fibers with a Young's modulus of 75 GPa, a poisson number of 0.2 and a fiber volume concentration of 49.8 %.
The matrix between the inclusions has elastic properties similar to epoxy resin with a Youngs's Modulus of 2.5 GPa and a poisson number of 0.4.

Swamp rice is more common and is mainly cultivated in Artibonite valley, where 80% of national rice is produced (Fig. 3). 28,000 hectares are cultivated in the valley, of which 24,000 are rice fields – a number that could increase, because 32,000 hectares are irrigable land.
