Stress Corrosion Analysis of Steam Generator Tube of Nuclear Power Plant by Finite Elements

Abstract.
The parameters of these materials are listed in Table 1[2,7].
The stress corrosion of a material occurs in the three essential conditions, (1) the material is sensitive itself to a stress corrosion, (2) a large tensile stress acting on the materials, (3)the chemical environment which can cause stress corrosion[9,10].
Because the HTTs are made of the materials susceptible to stress corrosion, the tube rupture often occurs.
Moreover, there also are a lot of ions in the secondary side water, which are corrosive to the tube materials more or less[3,11].

It can also be seen that the materials in the impacted zone are pushed aside as the projectiles penetrates through the thickness, and the plastic strain accumulates around the projectile nose.
