The article aims to discuss the dilemma of controlled use and ban asbestos, and present the progress of the search for alternative materials to asbestos in Brazil.
Introduction This article aims to present the development of studies on alternative materials to asbestos, financed by Brazilian funding agencies for science, technology and innovation.
Although asbestos be listed among the materials that may pose risks to human health, it is handled in different ways, both legally and economically in many different countries.
The Search for Alternative Materials in Brazil The agencies that support research in Brazil funded several projects of construction materials, especially for replacing asbestos.

But if nitrizing is carried under normal pressure, reduction process using tubular furnace, and materials putting on ceramic plate, the raw material layer cannot be thicker (less than 5 millimeter), otherwise the temperature cannot be lowered, time cannot be shorten, the nitrizing will be incomplete, and the grain sizes can be larger.
It saves energy, reduces reaction time, increases layer thickness of loaded materials.

The digesters were kept in the thermostat water bath with a constant temperature of (55±1) ℃ to maintain constant reaction temperature, and the reactors were shaken manually once a day to get the materials fully mixed.
It need not add additional material to adjust the pH.
