Rigaku D/max 2500 v/pc XRD (X-Ray diffraction) in Analysis and Testing Centre of Tianjin University is used to do the qualitative analysis of friction and wear materials.
Experiment Materials The experiment is carried out under the condition of dry friction and room temperature.
It is the ring contact friction test of ceramic materials.
The friction couple materials are Si3N4 and the reaction bonding SiC, whose physical mechanical performances are shown in Table 1.

Introduction The development of effective methods for the processing of mineral raw materials is currently one of the determining factors of scientific and technological progress.
In recent decades, decrease in the content of metals and the complication of the mineral composition of the processed ore raw materials have been observed, which leads to the need to use low grade ores and mining waste for metal extraction [2, 3].
This compels to develop novel technologies, including hydrometallurgical approaches, which make it possible to use these low grade raw materials [4].
Materials and Methods The object of the study was a sample of uranium ore from the Vostok deposit (Northern Kazakhstan).

It is hard to generate inner complex-shaped parts because the support materials are difficult to remove from the inner structure.
Method and Materials Many materials may be used in RP processes, such as polymer, metal, and ceramic.
If without support materials under the overhanging, the first layer of overhang will yield a downward deflection.

Preface The special issue of journal Key Engineering Materials contains the papers contributed to the 24th International Baltic Conference "Engineering Materials and Tribology" - BALTMATTRIB held on November 5 - 6, 2015 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The series of the Baltic International Conferences on Materials Engineering and Tribology was started 21 years ago focusing on materials issues and tribological studies.
Since that time, the BALTMATTRIB became an open forum for researchers and engineers to exchange ideas, share thoughts and encourage development and cooperation in both basic and applied research in the fields of materials science, powder metallurgy, heat treatment, surface engineering and tribology.
The BALTMATTRIB topics are:  Advanced engineering materials and related technologies  Heat treatment and surface engineering for tribological performance  Friction, wear and lubrication Understanding the complex interrelationship between processing, materials properties and their performance is a key to the way forward in our rapidly changing world.
The Guest Editors believe this issue will be a valuable resource not only for the participants of BALTMATTRIB Conference but also for the whole research community in the field of materials science and tribology.
