While choosing basement membrane materials of DMBR, the strength, chemical stability, stain resistance, durability and hydrophilicity of material should be taken in consideration as well as membrane costs.
The common basement membrane materials may contain microfiltration and ultrafiltration membrane made of polysulfone polymer, stainless steel mesh, non-woven fabric, industrial fabric, ceramic tube and some porous inorganic materials such as sintered polyethylene.
