Dielectric properties of ββββ-SiAlON at high temperature using perturbation method Young-Hoon Seong a, Ha Neul Kim b, and Do Kyung Kim c Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), 335 Gwahangno Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, 305-701, Korea a eric_1999@kaist.ac.kr, bjoeperry@kaist.ac.kr, cdkkim@kaist.ac.kr Keywords: Dielectric constant, tangent loss, SiAlON, perturbation method Abstract. β-SiAlON with various z-values (z = 0.5~4.0) were produced by hot pressing.
As a result, it is important that both dielectric constant and tangent loss should be lower than the other microwave window materials [2].
It is also possible, under some circumstance, to predict the dielectric behavior of a mixture of materials from the dielectric properties of the individual components and this can be of benefit when designing materials for microwave processing.
Experimental Procedure Commercially available α-Si3N4 (UBE-SN-E10, Ube chemical, Japan), Al2O3 (AKP-50, Sumimoto, Japan) and AlN (grade F, Tokuyama, Japan) were used in the preparation of the materials. β-Si6zAlzOzN8-z with various z-values (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0) was prepared in five different batches of powders.

For this reason, the composite materials are widely used for aerospace structures manufacturing.
On the other hand, composite materials are strongly vulnerable to damage.
The wing has been entirely fabricated by using composite laminates made of two composite materials systems, whose properties are listed in Table 1.
