The traditional basalt fiber is classified into glass-ceramic material with inherent devitrified defects, whereas the basalt glass is defect free.
The basalt glass powder and basalt glass-ceramic fiber are both adopted in this study, as fire retardant additives.
The experiment results indicate that the basalt glass-ceramic fiber is powerful for improving the fire retardant property of wood composites, and the glass powder is even better.

Abstract.
Such a gradient can be obtained from a resistivity non-uniformity introduced into the PZT ceramic, it can be done by doping it with small amounts of various additives, or by stacking piezoelectric composites of different compositions on the top of each other [1].
