At the same time, there are still shortcomings affecting the implementation and integration of new engineering approaches to solve the need for new materials and technologies that constantly address issues such as viable product maintenance, performance, costs, and environmental impact concerns.
For example, it was estimated that the average age of the passenger aircraft carrier fleets is approximately seven years, the average age of their cargo counter parts is approximately twenty eight years [7], and the impact of maintenance costs for both civil and military aircraft is at least two to three times greater than initial purchase values, and this trend is expected to increase [8].

The deflection, described in engineering, is the extent to which structural members is displaced under a load.
The object of deflection control As a engineer, the purpose of designing a structure is to satisfy the safety and performance of the structure when using it.
It is common sense in engineering area that the prediction of deflection in concrete structures is play an important role in structure design as the strength requirement.

Research on Determination Loose Zone of Surrounding Rock in Highway Tunnel Yue Huang Jun-shu Kou Hai-bo Fang Ming-liang Li Yan Liang (School of Civil and Architecture Engineering , Xi’an Technological University, Xi’an 710032, China) Key Words: Highway tunnel; surrounding rock; loose zone; elastic-plastic analysis; numerical simulation; deep displacement Abstract:To study the distribution of highway tunnel surrounding rock loose zone, this article discussed three Analytical methods which are the calculation of elastic-plastic theory, numerical simulation and deep rock displacement measurement. At the same time, the shortcomings of these methods had be discussed. The analysis results show that distribution of circular section tunnel surrounding rock loose zone can be confirmed accurately by the combination of the three methods.
In engineering practice, the designed length of this kind of surrounding rock bolt meet the actual needs of the project, and to ensure stability of surrounding rocks.
