For special testing fixture, Bomidi et al. [2] designed and developed a new test rig to evaluate fatigue life and failure mechanism of thin 304 stainless steel tensile specimens.
Ravi Chandran et al. [4], they constructed a failure modes in S–N fatigue, involving surface- and internally-initiated cracks which often lead to large variations in fatigue lives, especially in high-strength materials including steels, titanium and nickel alloys.
For fatigue life evaluation, Miura el al. [5] had established life evaluation method of austenitic stainless steel SUS316NG structural components at 288°C with/without mean stress.
Hou et al. [6] had studied the combined high and low cycle fatigue life prediction of nickel-base single crystal super-alloy.
Chaussumier et al. [7] studied the fatigue life of anodized 7050-T7451 aluminum alloy.

Chen et al. have investigated the band-gap structures of lower-order Lamb waves in one-dimensional (1D) periodic composite thin plates, and the band gaps for low-order Lamb wave modes have been demonstrated[1].
Zhang et al. have reported a type of phononic crystals (PCs) manufactured by patterning periodical air-filled holes in thin plates, and they confirmed the existence of band gaps in the PCs through laser ultrasonic measurement[2].
Gao et al. have further studied the propagation of lower-order Lamb waves in 1D PC layer coated on uniform substrate, and the influences of different substrates on band-gaps for low-order Lamb wave modes were analyzed[4].
All these studies mentioned above focused on the guided waves propagating in periodic composite materials, however, since Merlin et al. reported the realization of Fibonacci superlattices[5], much attention has been paid to the exotic wave phenomena of Fibonacci systems in x-ray scattering spectra, Raman scattering spectra, and propagating modes of acoustic waves on corrugated surfaces[6-8].
