Subsequently the different dried plant parts were ground finely, digested in a microwave digester and Al and HM/R contents were measured with ICP – MS.
The accumulation of Al and different HM/R into the roots, tubers and shoots of H. tuberosus was investigated.
A high accumulation of Al (0.25g/kg) and Fe (0.243 g/kg) even could be observed in the tubers, due to the increased soil concentrations and the related AMD impact.
Increased Al and HM/R accumulations were achieved as well in the experiments at the test field site, mainly at the preferentially N fertilized test plots for Al, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, As, U into roots and tubers, and a good HM/R transfer into shoots likewise for compost addition (Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, U).
