Dai Kui
School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Wuhan Polytechnic University, P.R.China, 430023
Key words: short-leg shear wall;horizontal displacement; destructive story drift; peak displacement; main section height; rigidity
Abstract: Calculation of Short-leg shear walls structural system is a multi-field coupling problem.
Because of displacement of the rigid body rotation of the lower floors will affect displacement calculation of the upper floors of the layer, so how to eliminate rigid rotational displacement influence to floor and choose appropriate performance parameters as the shear wall structure of performance index in actual work of engineering design is the the problem need to solve in earthquake-resistant design.

Abstract: In view of the shortage of using operating speed to evaluate the safety of highway alignment, we bring forward the use of possible speed.
In Summary, when doing alignment design, we should make it combined with terrain, ground objects and other natural conditions along the highway, consider the principles of engineering economy, and adjust felicitously one or more parameters of highway alignment to reduce ΔV of adjacent sections within a short distance.
