Introduction
One of the complexities of the mechanical behavior of quasi-brittle materials lies in the diversity of damage and failure modes in various stress states.
A traditional volumetric-deviatoric split of the strain is featured in many kinds of constitutive models for quasi-brittle materials and has been playing an important role in microplane models since Bažant and Prat [[] Z.P.

It is a process that a large wide variety of rural crop straw is taken as raw materials to make combustible part of the biomass into combustible gas by thermo-chemical reaction under the condition of high temperature, mainly providing rural users fuel gas for cooking and heating.
Bio-diesel research and development in China have been fruitful, and started building processing enterprises in the south, such as rapeseed oil, cottonseed oil, wood oil, camellia oil and waste oil etc are taken as raw materials to produce bio-diesel in small scale.
In recent years, in order not to compete raw materials with edible oil and industrial oil, the technology that jatropha fruit, pistacia seed, etc are taken as raw material to produce bio-diesel, is initially with the condition for commercial development.

Materials wasting is very common because of unable to measure the size accuratly.
In China the utilization ratio of forging materials is only 50 percent to 55 percent, it is 60 percent to 65 percent in Korea and in Japan it is even high to reach 70 percent to 75 percent[1].

Preface
The IUMRS International Conference in Asia 2006 (IUMRS-ICA-2006) became a major
conference to exchange the new ideas of science and technology among Asian researchers and
scientists and provides a forum to present their new results focused on the advanced nanomaterials
and their processes.
The number of submitted technical abstracts exceeded 1400 in the 17 symposia listed in the previous page, indicating that the ICA has a strong potential to become a major conference comparable to Materials Research Society (USA) and E- MRS.
Among the technical abstracts, 460 papers have been selected for this special issue of IUMRS-ICA-2006, covering three main fields: Electronic Materials Processing and Fabrication, Development of Functional Materials, and Nano and Structural Materials., which are the essential foundation of NanoMaterials under current research and development.
The organizers of the 17 symposia are greatly appreciated for their devotion of expertise and time for successful conference and timely selection of papers in the Solid State Phenomena Journal.

Structural curvature mode can be derived from structural mode shape by the following steps:
According to the basics of material mechanics, formula (1) can be gained:
The section is 26mm×10mm, the length is 3.00m, and the material is Q235 steel.
