Deformation and Recrystallization texture evolution in Nano-crystalline Nickel R Madhavan, N P Gurao and Satyam Suwas* Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - 560012, India *corresponding author - satyamsuwas@materials.iisc.ernet.in Abstract Deformation and recrystallization textures in nano-crystalline nickel with average grain size of 20 nm were investigated using X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry.
Study of plastic deformation and subsequent texture evolution in nanocrystalline materials yield considerable interests, as the deformation mechanism in nanocrystalline materials cannot be attributed completely to slip activity as in the case of polycrystalline materials.
Although a few investigations on thermal stability of electrodeposited nanocrystalline materials has been reported, the post deformation thermal stability of electrodeposited nanocrystalline materials has not been investigated yet.

Introduction Giant magnetostrictive material (GMM) is a kind of new function material with big magnetostrictive strain, fast response speed, high energy density and large output force etc, which can effectively realize the reciprocal transformation of electromagnetic energy and mechanical energy.
Conclusion This paper has presented a novel nozzle flapper valve based on giant magnetostrictive material.
