For this study, three common engineering materials for the work part are selected: aluminium alloy AK5M2, steel 40KhGNM, and high-strength cast iron VCh40-10.
The coating of the carbide materials STIM-2 and STIM-3 was applied on the high-speed steel specimens by electro spark deposition using electro spark machine ELITRON-22A on different modes.

He has been, and is, a very lively and active figure in the growth of quality materials science at Roorkee.
Unusually among scientists and technologists, his interests and work extend well beyond materials science.
His varied contributions to metallurgy and materials science are briefly touched upon, their origin and development described.
Materials Science and Engineering at its core is an interdisciplinary subject which embodies fundamental knowledge from the great disciplines of Science and Engineering.

Because woven fabric is normally used for base material in the past, its tearing failure properties had been studied fully, from testing methods, instruments, influencing factors, failure mechanics, computation models, etc[2-4].Whereas little had been made for base materials because of the complexities during tearing process.
